Moby Dick Testimonials

One of the guidance councelors at my old school has a great story about reading Moby Dick as a freshman in college. He wrote his final paper on Moby Dick and his professor, a Moby Dick “expert,” asked him how dare he write a paper on Moby Dick as a freshman in college (I put “expert” in quotes because what kind of expert would try to diminish excitement about Moby Dick?)?
